Pre-dawn wake up alarms for us as we continue our banding and data collection on breeding songbirds. Among the birds we studied were a family of Great-crested Flycatchers, rowdy cavity-nesting birds of the woodland canopy, and a juvenile Veery, a reserved thrush of our damp woods. These flycatchers spends the winters in southern Mexico and Central America while our entire Veery population winters in Brazil.
