All hands were on deck for
Hudson River Snapshot Day, held at the United States Military
Academy waterfront with 75 West Point 7th graders. The program
is designed to celebrate and educate participants about the
Hudson River as part of "National Estuaries Week". Coordinated
by Hudson
River Estuary Program and Hudson Basin River Watch, school
classes from the Troy Dam to New York Harbor study the Hudson’s
wildlife and waters to create a day-in-the-life picture of
our river.

their southward migration, as we hosted families of soldiers
currently deployed to other parts of the world from West Point
today. The Waiting Families Support Group visited, and we
hope the sights and sounds of Nature provided an opportunity
to put their cares away for a few hours on this spectacular
fall afternoon in Constitution Marsh.

were devoted to long-term planning sessions, re-connecting
with friends and having fun.
