Jim's Walk

A 700-foot boardwalk, built in memory of the late sanctuary biologist and warden James P. Rod, is designed to be accessible to families, birders, artists, photographers... anybody who comes to view the River's wildlife and natural beauty.

The walk incorporates Forest Stewardship Council certified wood as an example of a sustainable alternative to destructive forestry practices. A helical pier system anchors the structure without displacing sensitive wetland soils.
